v13.3 neat features
#1
I hope this stuff isn't a "welcome to last week", but I just got v13.3 installed yesterday and noticed a few neat features. First of all, you don't lose "sport" mode on the SMG transmission when you shift into reverse! The "sport" light goes out when you're actually in reverse, but when you put it back into drive, the "sport" light comes back on. I really love this feature because I almost always exclusively drive in sport mode.
I also noticed that when DTC is on, the instrument panel's upper LCD display says "DTC" in big letters -- don't know if this was the case with v12, but I don't remember seeing it before.
I also want to confirm other people's impressions that the steering feels heavier at lighter speeds now -- at first, I just noticed that it felt different, but I can now qualify it as being heavier.
Finally, I noticed this while I was waiting for my girlfriend double parked outside of a supermarket (yes, I don't always take the Honda to the grocery ) but if you turn the hazard lights on, and then you take your key out of the ignition, and then lock the car with the remote, the instrument cluster stops flashing its turn-signal indicators! I thought this was neat -- it's not a simple wire/relay system anymore!
I love this car!

I think the sport mode "memory" feature was something we requested a while ago on the feature requests thread. Maybe someone actually took our advice? (Then again, it's kind of a no-brainer so it's likely that many others thought about this without needing any help from us -- I mean we're only customers. ) Now, they need to make the setting stick between drives. Could be a setting in iDrive that allows you to select a default mode for the transmission. How hard could that be?
Speaking of memory, did anyone notice that the car remembers things like seat heater and steering wheel heater state for a short period of time? In other words, you have the seat heater and/or steering wheel heater on, shut the car off completely and then turn it back on within a few minutes and by golly the heaters are still on! (Not sure how many minutes or if it remembers things up to the time it goes to sleep.)
Funny how there are new things being discovered by many of us as the weather starts getting colder...

Yes, Rudy, I noticed that the seat/steering wheel heat settings are stored for a short period after shut-off and, I thought, the sport mode on SMG (I'll have to check the latter to verify). Very nice touches!

With my version 12.2, the SMG sport mode does not "stick" -- even when shifting into reverse and then back to drive.
I'm glad fuenfer discovered the minor improvement with version 13.3.
