I just made my appointment for V12 (and the fuel line clip recall) for late July.

One note about the "home" icon added to the nav screen:

Call me paranoid but since my E39 nav, I never named an address book entry "Home". No need for service techs, valets or car thieves to know where I live. My recommendation is to not utilize this new feature to flag an address as "home."

I use a different address for the service techs so in my case, they don't have my home address.

Besides, I'm more worried about the thief or valet dudes.

Blimey I never thought of that before, that's a good call - although if the naysayers are to be believed you need a PhD to operate i-drive, so I doubt any dodgy criminals will be finding their way to your house via i-drive Nav .

MP3 - "later in the year". You can read October into that.

Probably ditto for voice control (UK)

Made a tentative enquiry about the bluetooth retrofit for UK Pro Nav cars - apparently it's now available - for about ?2000 yeahright, I'll be going the Doc Diesel route methinks.

BMW may implement a "speaker identification system" to allow optional voice activation of (acceptance of) i-drive menu. This may very well prevent thieves and valet boys from knowing where your home is. Further, the system may serve as the base of an optional "car key" system for hands-free entry

I am gonna file a US patent for this, and you guys are all my witness

Well, I am going to have a grappling hook that fires out the front, and a Turbo Boost button, and a talking bit in the middle. Oh, hang on a minute...

I'm getting a software upgrade on Monday. Not requested any particular version as I just want the BFD activated. Would be interesting to see what version I do get. Have to remember to ask them when I pick up the car.

I'd be amazed if you didn't get the latest version that has been released to the dealers, i.e. v12

browellm,

Seeing the pics you took of your Nav, does V12 have the "perspective" view for the NAV map?

Thanks
