Default Need some help - replaced CCC, no sound (probably needs coded) - need some guidance

Greetings all!

This is probably super simple for some of you, but here is the deal:

1) Well, my 2007 E60 had the CCC go out
- Basically I had sound from the key, door, seatbelt, etc, but it just kept rebooting and no display...
2) I decided to purchase a unit on Ebay, and once installed it powers up and works well (nav shows, etc) - but I have no sound

One thing I noticed is it doesn't allow me to configure the L7 logic (it doesn't know I have it), which to me leads me to blelieve it wasn't coded to know about the L7 external amp / speakers, etc. I also noticed that it only allows for line-in, as I dial through the other options (FM, AM, CD, etc...) and it doesn't "engage", like it cannot be selected.

I have never programmed my car, but I am up for the challenge. My question is:

1) Does this sound like it is the issue I have? Needs re-programmed to know about my L7 system?
2) Is it same to assume the new unit will work? I spent quite a bit and the seller has been cool, but I don't want to go too long if this is a bad assumption
3) To program, what will I need? I know a cable and NCS Expert...
4) And of course, any guidance on how to enable the proper settings would be AWESOME

5) Or, do I take it to a shop and pay $$$$ to get it working...or maybe not?

I really just want to know if this unit will work, if coding is the right next steps, and lastly how to get'r done.

Thanks E60'ers!
DaveR

Note - I noticed in another post there are multiple stereo options, and coding solve their issue...but I need some guidance - PLEASE

Does anyone know if the lack of sound all around is related to the missing Logic 7 programming?

Thanks,

If you didn't program it then that's your issue unless you were having the issue prior then it would be you logic 7 that is bad

You gotta code it. I've never done it myself but I heard you have to code in your VIN.

Thanks all. Sounds like coding will do the trick. If there are any NCS experts that can point me to the best download, and best information, I would be greatful.

Thanks again all - appreciate the quick responses!

Thanks - I won't bug them until I get totally frustrated. I am trying to get this new CCC working, and there is a LOT to learn. UGH. I was hoping that just setting the VIN in the new CCC would bring everything back to where it was, but I don't believe that will be the case. I noticed I have also lost my client control settings, and other things...but I am hopeful.

Thanks,
DaveR

There's also services where they can do the coding for you remotely if you get to the point where you feel like your head is going to explode.

Thanks - Good to know.

My hope is I can just record the VIN in the CCC for the modules that were swapped and it will work. That is probably my real question at this point. I didn't want to make any other coding changes - hoping it is this simple and would like to know which SW is best for this...

Thanks,
Dave
