So I am jumping in and buying an interface box for my Bimm (550i, nav, 2006) but I need reccommendations on what to get and WHERE (especially important) to get them.

I know where to buy the following and want to be able to hook all this up to it at once:

front license plate (ir camera - no sound, would like to still hear radio)
rear license plate (backup camera - no sound, would like to still hear radio)
ps3 (RWY composite cable - yes sound)
additional RWY aux input (yes please on sound)



I currently have an ipod adapter hooked up where my cd changer should be, the ipod data cable not an aux in.

I would LOVE an aux in because I have a droid phone, but I would want to listen to it while still looking at the iDrive menu (not a black source screen.)


Im hoping to not spend more than $500 getting all this rigged up, im an IT and i LOVE doing these installs too so I pretty much have $500 to spend on the parts.

side note : I need 2 of the screws that hold my front wheel well cover in the well -where could I buy these
side note 2 : I also want to buy an extra trim piece - the plastic piece that sits behind the arm rest in the back seat. where could i get my mitts on one of those.

 

I dont know the exact pricing but from some of the few Camera retrofits i have seen i dont think any of them were under $1000. That is not to say it cant be done for $500 though. Have you tried the dealership for the screws? If not you may want to do an internet search for a bavarian recycle yard in your area. They should have screws and possibly the trim. Another option would be realoem.com
