If your car was built week9 or later (2005) it should have radio pro and should be able to play MP3's. If it's been built before week9, 2005 you can't get it.

I got version 18 today from my dealer in Ireland. It seems to have gotten rid of my transmission problems and made my car perform in a far sportier manner. So much so that I got done for speeding on my way home. I was clocked doing 122MPH. a couple of minutes earlier and it would have been 135MPH.
Seems to be very little change from the last one except my LED's are not working now. Looks like another trip to my dealer tomorrow eh?

Sorry to hear that. I always look in my mirrors for the black & whites because I know darn well I am always driving faster than I should.

Only by the end of Agust all these problems should be solved... seams like v18 is just an update for who didn't installed the v17.
If you alreday have 17 it makes no sense to update to 18... better to wait a month... hopefully...

One of the other members here (I forgot who) mentioned that there was very little updates for the e60 in the version 18.0 software.
I found this to be an interesting comment.
Is there only ONE software used for ALL the cars equipped with iDrive?
Meaning the 7, 6, 5, and now 3 (e90) all use the same software?

[/quote]you are correct.. V18 (or whatever number) is all encompasing for all models who accept this software (5/6/7 series).. 18 just might not have too much if anything for the e60. 18.1 might have more.
if we are truly only a month away of version 19, I am thinking of waiting, otherwise, they will put 18 on my car now.. any opinions?

The name CIP 18.0 only refers to the DVD disk or the download the dealer gets from BMW
It contains software for the 1 series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series
They dont use the same software, though the 1 and 3 share and 5 and 6 share a lot of the software ( eg a 3 and 5 dont share software )
The disk contains the individual software for all these car
Im told there is nothing noticible new for the E60 on CIP 18.0
