Using garage door openers w/ engine off

Yes, (As someone has mentioned above) , hit the start button (you don't have to really start the car) once (the radio turns ON), hit it again (the headlight and other things work)..NOW!!! try using the garage opener.

i cant even connect the homelink with the garage door opener!!!

It is a little tricky ... if you don't follow the direction steps exactly it won't work. It helps to hold the remote you're cloning very close to the mirror. And some high security rolling code garage openers complicate the programming via homelink :-(

grrr. Just went out to our Grand Cherokee and tried it. you are, of course, correct. Thanks for that- I didn't have a clue. Good thing it doesn't sleep outside!

My homelink programmed fine, but.... starting the car bothers me too to open the door.. I'm gonna try the start 2x trick
