With the adrenaline still pumping from the excitement of the polls at the UK elections? ...........I thought we'd have a new poll!

I've tried to think of all the possible most useless things one might add !!!

Of course mine has none of the said options.........with the exception of Cruise, but then that actually comes as standard on the UK sport model?

my options are all essential.....

actually i did not go crazy on the options, i could have gone for heated seats etc etc but i stuck to what i thought i would use:

- nav PRO, had BUS nav before and upgrading on this car to nav PRO was definitely worth it for the addition of the wider screen and map which is very useful got it as part of the media pack which gave me bluetooth as well, another vital option for me.

- hifi speakers, again, i hated the sound in my last E60 SE which had the std. UK speaker setup, for ?370 the HiFi upgrade makes a hell of a difference.

- leather seats...ok, maybe could have stuck with half/leather but figured it would help resale and looks good.

- auto box, again i think a must have for an E60 in the UK but just IMO

- visibility pack, had xenons on the last E60 SE and loved em, so specc'd em again

- high gloss shadow line, ok its cosmetic but i think it sets off the lines of the car, especially the m-sport car, very well and as it was only ?135 how could i not?

- advanced air con, ok i got it cos i like the dials better...but it also adds some additional idrive functionality and works well in auto mode.

- auto dim + folding mirrors...good for reducing glare from following cars and handy to fold mirrors in quickly in tight spaces. well thats my story and i'm sticking to it.

i think i gotta agree with merv....... i really dont see the point of having the silly sliding armrest..... would not waste money in that again..... i would also get the advanced air con next time - the dials do look better!!

The sliding armrest is standard if you get advanced air con. I think the sliding armrest is quite good. The main part of the armrest is too far back.

BTW i only got advanced air con because it had much better looking dials.

I ordered the car the way I wanted, so no useless options.
But I want the active vent. seat, and I can not have it...

I don't think there are useless options .. but we can call them un-perfect options .. such as .. navigation without roads maps

Heated options are great in colder climates, especially the heated steering wheel. i am very suprised that the HUD got 8 votes. I think it is one of the best options if you have nav. You never have to look away for turning instructions, speed, warnings etc...
