well heres another opportunity i have......a friend wants to sell a set of 20" Asanit af131 3 piece chrome rims WITH tires for $1500.
If I simply slap on that used tire in question, then swap out the rims for the Asanti's, then switch back to the original set when I turn in the lease, I wont have to worry about riding around on a repaired tire....right?

So the question is....pay $350 for new tire I wont ride on....or replace with OEM tire for $130, and buy the new set...tires on the new set are in good condition.

rip.
Hey, if you like the way the wheels look and perform, then go for it. Your strategy is sound so long as the used tire is as well. That is, when you put the stocks back on you'll need all four to be straight, at least until they inspect it. Then, of course, you can sell the 20s and put some of the $1500 back in your pocket along with the $220 you saved on the tire.

I have never bought a new tire, always running on "used", so by yours measurements I am a few times dead :-) You dont have to be a genius to find out if the tire is ok or not... just dont buy repaired one and no older than 3 years (btw- in Poland people drive cars on tires like 10-20 years... you can actually see tire threads from 70?... a bit hard and full of small dents :-) but they get them cheap so "no problem" )
take care in Palm Springs (where people have to do what others tell them to do :-) )
