While I won't use WD40, I have used leather lotion. My last application was >1.5 years ago. No problem till today. (touch wood)
I have to agree with Stranger, I tried the leather care cream (Autoglym) as per one of his earlier posts and it works v. well. It seems to last many months too.
I re-apply it when I clean the interior of the car - which can be as long as 4-5 months in between.

Yes, a leather conditioner seems to be the consensus.
The one I use is branded "Autoglym Leather Care Cream"

Which leather condition/lotion?
Brand name? I'd like to make sure I get the right one.

Day2: WD40 still quiet. hard to believe, but I am still hoping it will stay quiet.

bmw545, give it a car wash and the seals will start to squeak again. WD40 is temp. Leather lotion is good. Dealer replace door seals is the only way to go. If after replacement (make sure they replace them) and it still squeaks, replace them again. I had my replace 1 month again (est.) and I have not heard any sound out of the new sills even after several car washes and a wax job. Before, they were a pain in the behind.

I got the dreaded door seal creak last week for the first time. Just cleaned with a damp towel and seems ok now

However, I would be interested to know if it would make and difference getting them changed

My car is only 5 months old and I would imagine it already has the latest type of door seals

I've found at my BMW dealer, a rubber cleaner for the car. I used to apply this on all seals before winter. Kind of spray wich fizzles when applied.

Wouldn't this be any good?

Having tried the recommended BMW Silicon Remover (which didn't last longer than 2 days), my dealer changed the seals. No creaks since...

Thanks everyone.
I agree WD40 doesn't sound a right product to use.
If noise come back again I will try silicone lube or leather lotion.

Clean the wax off the paint where seals contact and door seals many times already. It does help a little bit but still has noise.

Use spray silicone. WD 40 is NOT the stuff to use for this.

For these who used WD40 on your door seals, any good so far? Do you recommand?
Dont use WD40! The chemicals in it will literally melt any sort of ploymer and plastics that it comes in contact with.
