Use WD40 on door seals.

Step Auto. Sports Package, Logic 7, Cold Weather Package, Parking Distance, and Rear Sun Shades
2002 330ci Titanium Silver/Gray
Step Auto, Sports Package, Premium Package, Xenon, 18 inch wheels.
For these who used WD40 on your door seals, any good so far? Do you recommand?

Don't use WD 40. Get some silicone lube (from the dealer) i.e "Sil-Glyde" Lubricating Compound. Mfd by American Grease Stick Co.
It's like vaseline, not a liquid or spray.
GM Dealers handle a good silicone lube also.

I wouldn't use anything on the seals. Try cleaning the wax ( most car washes deposit a surfactent as well) from the door seal area. Aclohol, dish detergent, or tar remover should work. If that is ineffective, get the deal to install new seals under warranty

I tried clean door seals with soap and just water. It did make it less noise but not perfect.
It drove me crazy last night, so I tried WD40 method and it did work.
It is very quiet now. I am pretty happy but still a little bit worry. How long will it last? Will WD40 damage door seals?
Thanks zen. But it is too late, I used WD40 already. I will try your suggestion next time if WD40 doesn't work out.

If you use WD40 method it could work for a time. But the purpose of cleaning the wax of the door seal area is too have it tihgt and not sleepy as whit WD40

Sorry, my message wan't clear. Did you try cleaning the wax off the paint where the seals contact?

i tried WD40 last week the sound was gone for about a day...tried it once again this week...sound is less but its still there...its not worth the effort because it doesnt work well.. mine were loud...now its lesss...but i think it will be loud again in two weeks so im also looking for another idea..
perhaps u'll get lucky....i think around here the temp gets so high that wd40 will just dry up...
the best way is to keep them soft and lubricated...now which method and product does that?

I agree WD40 doesn't sound a right product to use.
If noise come back again I will try silicone lube or leather lotion.

The temp here is rather high as well. Over 30degC during day time. Granted as hot as in Bahrain but by taking a percentage it should last you a year?
But mine was just very irritating squeal; not very loud but very audible.
