question here how complicated is to instal USB port for your ipod on a 04,545?

Is there re-programming involved?

A 2004 E60 does not have the SA-644 ( high charger hands free electronic control unit ) option. You would need to buy the USB retrofit kit 65 41 0 444 936 and the high charger hands free unit unit. For installation there are cables ran to the back of the CCC ( radio ), center console, and the trunk. Programming is required for all cars.

There is an ipod retrofit kit (ipod only connection not usb). This replaces the CD changer in the glove box. An 04 car might need reprogramming to activate. I have done this on my 06 and it was plug and play.
