I wonder if the new USB connection gives power for HDD?s, and if the Lacie Mobile Drive will work? Se link: Lacie-Porsche Mobile HDD
One more question, do you need an special cable with an iPod or can you connect with the cable thats come with iPod?

Thanks for all answers! My wife has an iPod and I just bought a 16GB USB flash memory. The attached file says that the cable is included, maybe I don?t have to bye one though I ordered my new car with USB option???

I really don't see the point of plugging in the ipod.
After getting frustrated about the cable (which should be included IMHO!)
The USB chip solution is great, just a buy a 4/8/16 gb and leave it, seems way better than the hassle of plugging/unplugging ipod or leaving ipod in the car. The cable may even cost more than a chip.
Very pleased, even better than ipod interface.
BTW for the fastest chips on the market try the Corsair Flash Voyager
They load the directories significantly faster.
ie it starts quicker
