USA conversion
I brought my 2007 530i to the UK from the states and trying to get it through the MOT. Currently if failed on on headlight wash for the front xenon lights, I bought a retrofit kit, but does anyone have instructions or tips on how to install it? It also needs a rear fog light. Does anyone know how to fit one? I have read a few discussions that you just need to change the switch on the dash, but has anyone actually had success with this?

Thanks for posting information on the switch, my dealer said changing the switch wouldn't work. So I am really after hearing from someone who has tried before buying a new one.

Yes I did also some other member(s) ... all I did just swap the light switch with one that has rear fog button and run a single wire from it down to the LCM to completed the enabling process.

Thanks for the post. Good to hear it works. Did you purchase the wire or just made up something suitable? Does the rear cluster need to be changed?

You can use any wire the socket size needs to be rather specific 'cuz it goes into a plug along with other wires ... the rear cluster already has rear fog in place (even the bulb) so as I mentioned it before you only need the light switch w/ rear fog button and a single wire to enable the rear fog nothing else.
Do an extensive search and you'll find a thread 'bout enabling the rear fog for the wire/socket part nbr etc.

There's only one rear fog (each side) ... the round inner (toward the center license plate) most one that probably never light up before.
