My Ride: 2004 545i Automatic - Premium - 19" M166 - Logic 7 - No Nav
Default

Hi,

This morning, my 04 545 IA light up like a nice christmas tree , two days before I need it for a drive to see family.... My ABS, DSC and run flat tire monitor all came on in the dash. Now, I have no abs, no DSC however the car is running smooth and fine with no problem. On top of that, PDC also came on as "defective"...

Anyone know what might go wrong with the car ?

Thanks

Your car is old enough to have battery issue if not recently replaced. Also could be bad alternator another common issue. Need a service visit at the very least.

However, ABS, DSC and FTM are all driven off of same sensor so you could have one real sensor bad.

Do you think a regular 100$ obd2 scanner will tell me if it's the battery or something else ?

Thanks

I would bet bad ABS sensor on this one. Same thing happened to me on my MINI before. Same symptoms. All those faults lit up.

+1 for sensor check. There are two or three (i think) on each side of your rear wheels on the inside of the well. The scanner, if compatible with your car, should be able to pick up the area of the fault.

Hey...

I notice that sometime, the warning goes off only by shutting down the car and restarting it. However, when I restarted like the 5 time, the warning came back, and I DID not drove the car between all these shutdown/restart...
