I contacted my BMW parts department to quote some prices on the 166 and 167 M5 and m6 wheels. To my surprise the technition told me that the wheels won't fit on the xi model. He then went on telling me that no BMW OEM 19 inch wheel will fit on my xi. My last vehicle was a 2005 Denali with 24 inch Foose spank 6's. Im used to big wheels and can't keep the stock M double spoke 18's on my 535 even though there they're very tasteful. Anyone have the same problem? Fill me in on my options..

It's not a Denali and, IMO, overly large wheels look poor on these cars.

Ah, too solid you did not mention in your other thread you had an xi model. This changes things a bit. The BMW Parts department is correct. None of the OEM wheels mentioned will work with the xi. It all has to do with the offset. The offsets for the 166, 167, 172, and 101 are too low for an xi. If you still want big wheels (19" or 20") you'll have to go aftermarket. Make sure the offsets are in the high 30s- low 40s. C's Bimmer, where are you?

Would a set of spacers solve the problem?

Spacers would actually make it worse. As it stands, if you were to mount 166 wheels on an xi model the wheels would protrude past the fender. Adding spacers would exaggerate this. Here's a baseline for what the offset of xi wheels should be:
These are Style 124 wheels for the xi model
-----------------------------------------------------
8x18 offset 43mm
9x18 offset 55mm
