Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the Business Navigation System with the Proffesional one? If so how much?

Also if it can be changed? what do they change? screen, computer, etc ......?

Advantages you will get by using Pro. over Business Navigation System:
-Voice commands
-Map navigation (not arrows)
-TV
-Play DVDs (by installing the DVD player beneath the in dash CD slot)
-Better utilization of screen space

there might be other issues involved that I don't know of.

Hi, i'm upgrading today (car is at the dealer)
Prof Nav includes the CCC (Car Comunications Computer)
The CCC is a more versatile system and enables advanced future features such as web browsing.
The systems also has many auxiliary inputs that are not used for the moment, but will be.
When i have the time will post a complete description of the system taken from BMW TIS.
If you have option 6UA you can order the CCC conversion KIT wich is less expensive because you already payed for the Business system.
If not, you can still upgrade, but at a higher price.

TV requires the nav pro, but is another option. The upgrade to nav pro doesn't give you automatically a TV tuner, you have to get it also if you want to watch TV.
Playing movie DVD's is currently not possible on the DVD drive, but BMW is working on the implemantation of this feature and will therefore modify the software. As of now it looks like this softwar update will be released in October. BTW, the same software update will bring the ability to play MP3's. I assume that you have to have the TV tuner to play movie DVD's, but haven't heared this as a confirmed fact through BMW yet.

Jmcaiado, are you absolutely sure that Prof. Nav. can be fitted without 6UA and if so do you happen to know the price of such conversion?

I have the Business System, but I don?t have 6UA prep. for Nav. Prof. because it wasn?t available for the earliest cars (06/2003 production)

jmcaiado,

I'm considering doing the upgrade if possible.
Is it possible? I don't have navigation system installed.
My car is 28th April production.
If it's possible say something.
Are you doing you work in Faro?
How much for it?

For the US, BMW NA takes the costs (e.g. no more than 1800USD) as a warranty claim. Not every region may be as forgiving!

Hi, that's the only reason because i don?t have one of the first E60's !
I had to wait until option 6UA was available and the wait almost killed me
I can't see why the CCC couldn?t be installed in any E60. It's a question of $$$, i think !
