Hi!
Are there any e60 lovers who changed factory speakers?
Actually I am considering MB quart or others.
I only know it has 4" speakers at each doors and rear.
If you changed them by yourself or installers,
please share your experience.
Thank you in advance....

I wanted to change them on the E39. Installer would have had to do a major wiring job due to the amp set-up. I opted for the logic 7 sound system on the E60, which is supposed to be great sounding.

My 330Ci with Harman Kardon had better sound that the Stock E60 radio. The E60 radio SUCKS!. Please, please, any one out there that has changed the speakers. Specially the Bass/subwoofer. I don't think the Logic7 can address the Bass problem. <_<

The logic 7 is a completely different system.
It has different and more speakers which are calibrated for the E60 by engineers.
The system sounds great in the 7 and can't be that much worse in the E60.

Go with the Logic 7 if you get the chance. Yes it is pricy but I have had many high end aftermarket stereos in the past and this system is great, including bass. My tastes range to hard rock / metal and the logic 7 is able to tailor the sound to anyones taste.
If it came down to cost I would rather give up Nav and keep the Logic 7. Or give up some of the other non essential options but the Logic 7 is a must (IMO)

Well too late for me. But, I decided to inspect the speaker under the seat. I moved the seat all the way foward and up, There is a small grill withta very smal speaker there. MAybe I can upgrade that speaker. I was considering installing a subwoofer in the trunk but the car is very well sealed so that is not possible..arggg..Anyone with speaker upgrades with exception of the Logic 7?

It sounds like Don Juan's post confirms that the standard sound system does not come with the two under-seat subwoofers that logic-7 does. I thought I had read somewhere on a spec sheet that the standard system also has the two under-seat subs. Thanks.

The normal radio (like mine has a small speaker under each seat. Not sure if it is a subwoofer or woofer. The radio sucks in low to normal volume but if you crank it, it sounds descent. Actually my Bass is set to the MAx and I can feel the bass comming from the seat and floor when I have the radio cranked up ... now wondering if I can upgrade those for a better Bass. I need to inpect down there and see the size of the space. If it is just a 4x4 I'm out of luck
