I own an E60 2007. I'd like a car stereo with the highest performance so that I can operate it smoothly without any lags. XTRONS QCB8060CC seems meet my requirement best as it has the built-in Qualcomm Processor. Is it a powerful head unit worth to get and do you have any other recommendations?

Swapping out a stock E60 radio with something aftermarket is not plug-and-play. It's integrated with the onboard computer system. I'd think twice about attempting this unless you know what you're doing.

I installed an Avin unit and it was plug n play. It only replaces the screen, not the CCC/MASK/CIC unit itself so the car doesn't even know it's there. Doesn't give you better audio or anything (in fact, could be worse since it goes through the aux-in port which some people report has worse audio) but does allow for things like Apple CarPlay. That's why I did it and I have wireless CarPlay running almost the entire time I'm ever using the car. Just have to quickly switch back to oem (hold menu button on idrive controller for 3 seconds) now and then to adjust certain climate settings.

I think the OP was looking to improve performance, but that's interesting. Do you have a link or pics to the unit you installed?

I gave up with an aftermarket head unit. I bought the cables from Technicpnp.com and added a 6 channel EQ and amps in the trunk. I haven't quite got it dialed in yet but I am quite pleased so far, 2006 530xiT.

My XTRONS is plug and play, it fits E60 straight away.I have friends who have XTRONS radios as well. Never heard complaints from them. my unit is with Snapdragon, it takes only a second to boot, very impressive. it makes my driving much more enjoyable.
