Cool

Ok so my I Drive went out and all I had was a BMW logo and loss of all functions. Well I went to the dealership this week only to find out there was a programming recall. He thought that would take care of it but to my surprise this did not work. They are now going to be replacing the entire display unit. Why I don't know but we will see on Tuesday how it went.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets. First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.

"Progman Upgrade!" seems to be the universal fixall that seldom fixes anything. They diddled around with mine for two weeks, trying to repeat and trace an "electronic failure" warning that I was getting every morning, 10-12 minutes into my drive. But, based on my log and observance, we now believe it is temperature related, and the weather is too warm for it to occur. So, we wait until next fall.

In the meantime, all the update to 20.02 did was change the message on the warning from Electronic FAILURE to WARNING. I guess, in the scheme of things, that sounds a bit less severe, but is still damned annoying.

Cheers, and I hope you get them to do some REAL diagnosis.
