My Ride: BMW e60 2005 545i 82k
Default Update

So my insurance denied me coverage on the water damage to my car for the reason of it occurring over time and not one day. SO PISSED OFF!

Contacted the shop who previously worked on the valve cover gaskets and had them replace my DME because they didnt properly seal the e-box lid.

Got a job at my local BMW dealership and had a tech program it all and it is finally running again! Thank the gods!

But now I face the issue of transmission problems.... Codes telling me the mechatronics is bad. So the car is in limp mode and wont shift up!

Did some research and found that I dont need to replace the whole unit. More less replace the solenoids.

Has anyone else faced this issue on their 05 545i?

USAA. Going forward with getting in touch with a lawyer to see if I have a bad faith case against them.

Friend of mine had the exact same issue with USAA here in Texas. He has since switched, after also having to get a lawyer.

Did your friend win the case after involving a lawyer?

Same exact thing with USAA and water damage. I was forced to tear apart the car and fix everything myself. USAA as on overall experience has been great but the insurance seems to be less than par.
