i have a 2004 530i and the car hasnt been as smooth as it used to be.. it goes up and down alot while moving regardless of the road conditions .. it used to be much smoother..
i'd like to hear some hear ideas on why do you think the ride quality has detoriated ?
and i started to hear some noise coming from one of the right side wheels .. do you think it is a related issue ? (noise not from brake discs)
or is it that the golden days of my car are aleady gone ?!

When your tires (and rubber) get old, you hear more road noise and your ride (smoothness) deos deteriorate somewhat. The rubber gets harden and worn. If your brakes disc or warped, then braking will shake your steering wheel and causes a mini bouncing effect. Check to see if your wheel (tire) is wearing unevenly or worst, about to BLOW up on you.

Sounds like you might have blown a shock/strut. Take it to the dealer and have it checked out; should be covered under warranty.

What's your mileage on these tires, and does somebody else drive your car (spouse, child)? I used to have these problems when kids in house or wife drove car. Not now. NOBODY drives my BMW, but me

I like the idea that your probally used to the ride by now. I'm sure if its a strut your going to hear some loud noises to go along with your driving.
