I pay almost 80 euros for a full tank of gas (65 liters) that means around a 100 bucks for a full tank aaaaarrrghh..

But hey.. we still have the electrical folding mirror option!!!

I've never seen a dyno graph on a BMW showing a hp gain with only higher octane gas.
I'm not saying you gain HP.
But the fuel consumption seems to be better and acceleration too. The engine also seems to run smoother.
And with a better fuel consumption you don't lose money on the few cent more the 100 octane costs.
There wouldn't be such 100 octane gas if it wouldn't be any better for engines...

According to car manufacturers and oil companys we should better use high octane every day.

As I posted earlier, BMW recommends the use of 98 octane (in Germany - octane numbers are different here - higher). Downgrading is possible but not good, according to BMW and the oil companys agree (off course).

so i think from now on, i have to drive a few miles further to fill up my car w/something higher than the so-called premium 92, which is already the highest in 99.9% of the gas stations here <_<. ouch, my wallet will get more damage from now on .

Wow , a 100 octane, it must be expensive?? You purchase by the liter, so that must get really expensive? I wonder if we will get 100 octane at our gas stations in the US (highest is 93 octane).? That would be really nice, especially for acceleration purposes.

A friend of mine told me that you can purchase race car gas at (I think 110 octane) for about $5 to $6 a gallon depending on mixture and type of car you are competing with.
In Cyprus fuel is the cheapest in Europe. The Goverment subsidizes it because we dont have decent public transport .

I pay 51 cents (Cyprus pounds) per liter for Unleaded 100

1 Cyprus pound=1.7 Euros (strong currency)

30 CYP = 50 Euros = FULL TANK ON E60

Cheers
