Hi

I have a weird issue that's bugging me.
I had Eibach sport springs on with 19s. I then got 20s and had the Eibachs taken off and the stock springs put back on because of rubbing in the rear (I was unaware of 'rolling the fenders').
BMW put the original springs back on, but since then the drivers side of the car sits slightly higher now. It is slight but I can totally notice it, and others can too when I mention it.
I took car back to BMW to check things and evertyhing was as it should be.....they say.
Any solutions????? I don't know much about suspension, but this is driving me nuts!

the passenger side of the car, when no one is inside, really is lower than the driver's side, plus the gas tank and spare tire compartment is towards the right side. when the driver steps in, the car levels out.

 

But when I look at other members cars in pictures, they all seem even. When my car is in the garage, or anywhere flat for that matter, I can notice the space from the ground to the front bumber is higher on drivers side.
What you mentioned makes sense though.

 

When new,the car sits level,it is not designed to lean at all.If your car was level before the suspension changes and it is not now,then it is no doubt due to a difference in one of the springs.

 

I can 't remember if it was perfectly level or not prior to thr Eibachs or even when I had those on...and it's definitely not new. So what could be going on with the springs?? BMW checked them and everything was as it is supposed to be....

 

Over time,suspension springs (and bushes) "settle",any differences in compressed spring length (or a worn bush) can cause a car to lean slightly.
However,if it is obvious when viewing an unladen car I maintain that it is not normal.This topic was aired recently,some members reported leaning,some reported level when measured from floor to wheelarch.

Mine does the same thing. I didn't notice it until I saw that thread and went to check out the car.

 

Weird! Thanks for the link. I found that same link earlier doing a search with 'leaning' keyword.
One thing for sure is I'm not alone...or losing my mind over it.

 

I can confirm this is NORMAl and how its supposed to be-as mentioned and I confirmed this through my bmw tech-its to compensate for the weight of the driver. The suspension is no tighter however it is raised ever so slightly so that the weight of the driver drops it down to then even out everything.

totally normal-the reason why is you never looked closely before but after changing shocks you were looking at those parts more carefulfly thus you noticed it.

 

I noticed it when my wife was driving it...but she only weighs a hundo!
