There should be a picture on your speaker with the ohm. I'm confident yours is 2 ohm, I found this picture of your part number with the 2 ohm sign.
I went on Bimmertech's website and when I put in my vehicle information, they did not have any amp upgrade options for it.
I was looking at Focal and Rockford Fosgate, but both were quite pricey. I heard about BAVSOUND and nothing but amazing things about them. They were also cheaper so I went that route. They sound great don't get me wrong I'm just bummed at the distortion from the subs.
But is there a way to find out what my amp/woofers specs are? I have an older model 5 series compared to you skrelnik, it's an '05. I'm sure the components were improved or upgraded between pre-lci and lci models, hence the different part numbers.

Also, Crutchfield is a great resource for upgrades and I mentioned 6spdcoupe who can ship you goods at a better than normal price, with install instructions. I'm currently debating selling my PP82DSP so I can upgrade to the next model up. This stuff gets addicting!

I looked at the other speakers I took out of my car, none of them say the ohms either, but both the front and rear tweeters say 4ohm. Does that mean my amp is 4ohm?

Check out this link. The e90 hifi is basically the same as the e60 hifi. Lots of good info in here, as well as links to other questions you may have.

Weird, the link to that post had a pdf that says the HiFi (option 676) amp power is 2 x 40 W at 2 ohms for the bass and 4 x 25 W at 2 ohms for the other speakers, but my tweeters are rated at 4 ohms. I really don't know what is what.
Going to try to use the multimeter. How do I use that to test the resistance?

Tested my woofers and they came out at 2.5 ohms so they actually are 2 ohm woofers. Just don't understand why there is so much distortion.
Does anyone else have BAVSOUND speakers on their E60's? Did any of you have this problem?
One thing I did overlook in my haste and excitement of installing these into my car, I did not put in the included gaskets on the bottom of the woofers. Would not having that play a factor in the distortion? At this point the speakers and woofers are pretty much broken in, while the distortion isn't as bad as it was at the very beginning, I'm still getting some, more so on one of them. In contact with BAVSOUND support for troubleshooting options.

It clears say to add the gasket to the surrounding.
