This is basically what we had here in Houston. The had a 2 tracks set up and three X5s per track. Also had a Lexus LX470, a Volvo SC 90 and a Mercedes ML500. We were given two laps in each of the cars, pushing them as hard as we thought we could. Basically, I came away with a new respect for the Volvo, a continued disdain for the Lexus, and no real positive or negative feeling for the Mercedes.

Of course they were pushing the X5, but they were willing to listen to dissent and even agreed to some of the advantages of the competitors versus the X5. Following the autocross, they had vehicles you could test drive, including a 750, 550, Z4, 650, and 330. For the test drives you were sent out on your own, but they wanted you to follow a particular course, which was kind of funny since the course was through some not so great parts of town. Basically, it was a ten mile route with a little freeway, but mostly street-level driving, nothing exciting.

All in all, I had a great time and look forward to pushing another car at the Performance Driving School later this year.
