As I live in the Thames Valley I did not expect the tv reception to be very good but I have not been able to get a watchable station yet when tried locally.

Was in central London yesterday and could only get BBC 1, 2 , News and 5 or 6 freeview channels. No ITV at all.

Is this generally the situation or is it my system? The tv reception in my previous E46 M3 was not good but was a lot better than I am getting now.

Also the radio reception could be better I feel, so does it use the same aerial? Can the aerial be upgraded?

Hmmm, I am just about to order a 520D SE and thought I would order TV instead of xenon but if reception is rubbish (am in the midlands) then maybe I'll reconsider. Any feedback on TV appreciated...

Reception for me is pretty bad in most area. In fact, I had a few occasion to get perfect signals when I was sitting in the traffic on the M6 where there is no tree or anything nearby.

Oh.....never been able to get any digital channel though.

Sorry - I am confused - was that digital freeview or terrestial freeview?

This was what stopped me spending the money - as the analogue signal will be switched on around parts of the UK in 2 yrs.

As far as I know the signal is digital freeview. I could not get them all, probably 6 to 8 ( UK bright ideas was one I remember ) and no ITV channels showed up. See option 601 description in the Price List brochure.
