Must say lovin the new hard disk based i-drive its much better than the previous version in every way I assume the new 5-Series will get the same unit. The sat-nav with its traffic up dates works a treat as does the internet connection, the storing of CDs and the information from gracenote also works without hassle to the hard drive there really is no point in having the multi-cd changer (even though I have this also).
Having experianced the MMI 3 in the Audi Q5 I can safely say BMW have finally caught up with Audi with nothing really between the two.

Yo!
Hi guys, hope everyone is well.
Welcome to all the newbies from the UK, hope you are enjoying the forum and modding your cars! There is life in this UK thread, just been deprived a bit.
My apologies to all those who organised and attended the UK Meet at MercWorld, I do have a good reason for not being there (Which ill go into) but I should have let someone know.
As some may know, I was in Las Vegas for a stag week at the start of May. Soon after getting back, I was bed ridden for almost 10-12 days. Severe headaches, temperature, night sweats, shivering, vomiting and no sleep...the whole lot!
I went to see my GP, and over the last 4 weeks I have been having tests every other day....it seems I've "Picked something up" whilst I was away. I dont want to go into to much info, but I spent 2 hours this morning having a full medical at the IDC at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
All my symptoms have cleared up, but I may still be carrying something....allegedly. Been pretty shitty but back upto strenght now.
Sag

My Ride: E60 530d Remapped 292BHP
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Hi everyone Lewis from Essex here. just found this sub forum.
Great somewhere for the UK.
Hi there, i know this is a little later, but i wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
I bought one from Ebay too but for a 530 218bhp. i don't want to start an argument here, it may be that i ended up with a lemon, but it didn't work on my car.
here are my dyno runs,
Standard 215.2BHP
Abrieb box 214.9BHP it smoothed the power out and made it feel quicker, yes a few pounds more torque too.
Remap 271.1Bhp.
For anyone wanting to know, been remapped for 10 month and not a problem with the remap. Been in to stealer for service and a computer fault with the map and no problem from them. MPGwise I don't really do much motorway and only get around 28mpg town. (auto and a very heavy right foot)
Remapping Recommended +1
Paulmc, I notice on another thread that you fitted an intercooler to your 535. what sort of difference did you get turbo lag etc... I'm always on the look out for more power. thanks Lewis

I bought one of these. Only done around 2k with it but well impressed.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Abrieb-Chiptuning...1QQftidZ2QQtZkm
I have tested my last few cars on a stretch of road below are my findings.
Test is. Start 50mph floor it up a steep hill then onto the flat where the tar changes so you feel a big bump. Not very scientific I know but I do it several times and take the average
E39 530d Remapped just under 100mph 240bhp
E39 M5 Remapped 118mph 420bhp
E60 535d Standard 110mph 272bhp
E60 535d with Abried 116mph 300bhp ?????
For the money you can't knock that figures

Deffo more powerful I can really feel the difference. As for how much dont know would only be guessing.
For ?300 including the pipework it makes for a very cheap mod.
No difference re turbo lag.
