2004-2 Business Nav DVD has the M6 Toll Road on it - although it always seems to want to avoid it. Once on it it does say M6 Toll.

The latest disc is still 2005-1, I dont believe that 2002-2 disc is out yet for Bus Nav.

Business Nav only has arrows, no maps

Yep, I know that. But not having maps doesn't stop you having TMC for automatic route recaluculation around holdups. Does Business have TMC? As I say, if not, that would explain the difference - each TMC enabled disc has an associated licence fee with it, so if not, the Business discs should be slightly cheaper...

I wonder what the difference in the discs really are then? With say, Audi, the discs for map and non-map systems are the same - you obviously need the same data - position of roads. Be very interesting to try one in the other - unless BMW deliberately cripple the discs so they won't work, even if they could?

The content of the discs look very different . For example. If you were to download both discs from something like emule (not that you would do this since it would be illegal ) and look at the content then you would see that the structure of directories and data on the Pro Nav disc is significantly different to what you find on the Bus Nav disks.

It looks like the ProNav system has a completely different way of accessing data from the disc compared to the Bus Nav.

All,
Many thanks.. I did try the Prof sat nav dvd (in my Bus sat nav system) and it does not work.

TMC works fine with Bus sat nav as long as you have at least 2004 - 2 bus sat nav dvd as well as software upgrade to I think what what was 13.2.

Just checked with my dealer and they want 225 pounds UK + vat for the latest DVD..

There is absolutely no chance of me paying that sort of money for a DVD...

No I think that they are both Navtech - they must have more than one format.

?225 +VAT is expensive - no wonder people try to download bootleg copies over the internet it using tools such as Emule which would be totally illegal and such behaviour should be discouraged

what you needed NAV to tell you there's now an M6 toll road? did the big road side signs on the M6 not give it away? (only pullin ya leg)

my March2005 car came with pro-nav 2005-1 dvd which i think is the latest.

seems to have pretty much all latest roads in the on a recent trip up the A1 past leeds it did think i had disappeared into the ether on the new stretch of A1 as the "current position" window went blank and the arrow on the map showed me driving in the field next to the A1 (what is actually the old A1 now).
