Congrats.
Great write up. Expecting mine early next week, but was a little concerned about what I'd read about fit & finish not being up to scratch. You've calmed my worries. Thanks.

You need'nt be worried fit and finish is now very good IMHO. Enjoy your car, you won't regret the comfort seats or the logic 7, they were must have's on the new one, good luck.

... I am now a bit depressed that my car doesnt seem to have Postcodes, and the dealer is looking into it. The rest of the system seems good though...
Nice comparison between the 2 cars; pleased to hear that BMW have been imorving the car over the years!! FWIW, you can input postcodes into the 'City' field in the Nav screen, bu it's not the full 7 digits, just 5 IIRC.

Peter,

In theory yes you can, but the number digits are never available to enter, so no postcodes 5 or 7 digits

Strange, it works fine in mine. I can input RG12 5xx for example, but it has to be in the 'city' field. Mine is a November '05 build, and has the later 'perspective' view satnav, but yours must too...

I have the same problem - not sure when the car was built but it was supplied to me new only 2 weeks ago - hence probably the same CIP vintage as yours E60_530D. BMW customer services assure me the function should be available, but it isn't. Back to the dealer!!

Its even in the manual, the dealer isn't very responsive so far on the issue. I will try and chase it today, but my guess is it will be a software update (oh no, a day without my new car)

Let me know if you get any more info.

High Beam Assist dips your headlights automatically when other cars approach you, or when lighting is OK (but also when approaching large reflective signs apparently !)
