Can anyone assist me with reputable places in Toronto, Canada to have a Wind Shield or front glass fixed as Im sure the "Stealer" (Dealer) wants way too much.

Its for a 2004 545i SMG with sport pack.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks this site is the greatest.

Do you have a HUD? If so, you need to replace the glass at the dealer. (Because of the wedgeshaped plastic in the middle of the glass)
If not, you can do it somewhere else.

Here in Holland we have CarGlass, which has almost all types of windscreen in stock and they replace it fast, cheap and good.
I don't know about Canada though.

Apple Autoglass is always a safe choice, they provide warranty for their work, so you're safe on that accout. Thats all I can think of right now.

On a sidenote, I had a stone about 2" in diameter kick up from the rear of a trailer on the highway. I was doing 120+km/h and it hit my windshield. It sounded like a gunshot went off inside the car, got me really scared. After inspecting the windshield there was no damage. BMW makes strong windshields.

Strong...but, they pit like hell. I guess that's better than the alternative.

sorry but I couldn't help it................

I'm driving along on the highway
at 70 miles an hour (the speed limit), minding my own business,
when outta nowhere there's this big crack in my windshield!!
I swerved right,
and then left,
and it was still right there!!

Check with the "Stealer" and the prices differ dealer to dealer and range from $1000.00 to $2100.00 it would be great to know where I can get this done properly at a reasonable price.

Make sure you call around to quite a few places. I've found that prices vary quite a bit in my area at least with windshields on other cars I've had windshield replaces.

Does one carry insurance in Canada to pay for that? I know my comprehensive section of my insurance covers it.
