Hi I have an 09 520d Business edition Today I checked and corrected my tyre pressures. I attempted to reset the Tyre pressure monitor after confirming pressures and driving off it comes up as that the status is initialising??? this stays on anny ideas whats wrong?? also for some other strange reason the MPG shown by the OBC seems to have dropped dramatically to around 27MPG (was at 32MPG)

Help !!!!

The TPMS in my old car would take a long time to reset. I would adjust pressure, reset TPMS and then drive as directed but it would take 15 minutes or so of driving until it changed from Initializing to Active...

Edit: What Gene said!

Keep going! It took 15 minutes (or more) of city driving, so more than 8 miles...

I assume that since you are in the UK you have FTM .If so it does take a few miles to initialise ,in my case it was about 4 miles.Regarding your drop in mpg, have a look at units in iDrive settings and check that you have Uk mpg and not US mpg.Using your spare key can cause this if that hasn't been set up the same as your main key.

Doh , just re-read what I typed, doesn't make much sense! 8 miles should have done the trick...

Just changed into winter tires. It took about ten minutes for the TPM to reset. As noted had to be driving for it to happen.
