Two Stage Induction System - New on 4.8L

The 4.8L has a two stage induction system. Can't find any detail on this. I assume its an advancement. Any help my friends??

Probably a variable length intake manifold... DIVA

BMW calls it Infinitely Variable Induction System. Only seems to feature on 'bigger' V8/12 engines...

Two Stage Induction System - New on 4.8L-fully_variable_intake_sys_3.jpgThe variable length air intake (DIVA) has already been a feature in the 545/645 engine.

It helps lowend power by reduce the volume at low RPM by closing the outer loops and increase air volume at higher RPM for more topend power by openning them, as I understand it.
