I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this but this setup looks like a horrible hack. It appears to not be functional at all and a cause for potential problems with heat and rattles. It almost looks like someone would be better off bolting on some faux tips to get the quad look.
OUCH! My poor car you're poking sooo much fun at it!
Hahah J/K its not anyones car here... althought there are a few people who got this... Its a picture I took directly off Eisenmann's install brochure. And you're right it does look funky... Another reason why I never got it.

I have to wonder about the sound of one side being muffled and the other side being unmuffled. Would that be a good thing or a bad thing?

That was my original dilemna..
I like an aggresive sounding exhaust...
I drive a 525i with an I6 engine so the headers are 3-3 kinda thing and they go down to form 2 pipes.
So if i continue the 2 pipes but enlarged by maybe 1/4 of an inch all the way to the rear but split it in both directions and a muffler on each side, would there even be enough exhaust fumes from 3 cylinders to make any sound at all on each of the mufflers?
I might end up hearing nothing as not much gas flows thru each muffler right?
Thanks alot for the responses in advance...
