Had the TV Function fitted as an option at ?700+ and to be honest it is simply not worth the money. Has anyone experienced poor tv reception?, i would say at best 7/10 areas i am i cannot get reception or if i can the picture is appalling. Compared to my brothers new A6 the BMW opposite is not in the same league.

Is this just simply that there is a fault with mine?, if not what recompence do i have with BMW because it is not fit for the purpose at the moment.

Regret every penny spent on mine. I have only been able to get a good picture outside the dealer. In fact since having the latest Progman upgrade I cant get any sound at all. Let me know if you have any success getting BMW to accept that its not worth a penny, which it isn't.

The TV function is useless. I would never buy it again. I don't know how good the digital DVB-T is. I think Iceman has it on his 545i.

I have just emailed my dealer to tell them if it's not faulty i fully intend to get compensation from BMW!, in fact i'd go as far to say it's a bit of a con!, what really brings it home is when you compare it to the A6 equivelant, what i am going to do when it's due for it's first service is get my brother to follow me to the dealer in the A6 and see what they have to say about the comparison.

It's totally crap. I've used mine about 5 times when stuck in horrendous traffic. The reception is awful.

If it hadn't already been specced for my car (I bought the demo car at the dealer with 7 miles on it!) I'd have binned this option and spent the money on something worthwhile!

probably the only good thing about the option is that it allow you to plug a DVD player into the system.

If you have a bad signal it's because your using the analogue network, whereas the A6 probably uses the digital one. If your car has a prod month 09/2004 or later you should get digital signals too.

Iceman isn't the only one in Germany who uses DVB-T in his E60 We also do

And I must say, it's not that bad as cheney jawa described it. The system needs a little while to adjust the channel (about 3 seconds) and the quality is absolutely perfect (as long as you aren't in a garage or a tunnel). we had never had any problems with the quality
