Hello everyone...new member here. I've had 5 e60s over the years, and last year my son talked me into getting him a 2009 535i. We knew going in that it was throwing a 30FF code, but it seemed solid otherwise. We decided to roll the dice. We have had a fair amount of work done on it to seal oil leaks (for now...), and replaced the vacuum lines with silicone tubing in hopes of resolving the low boost while avoiding replacing the turbos. Now there is a coolant leak coming from the turbo coolant line, so it's time to replace the turbos or move on to a different car. Looking for advice on alternatives to BMW turbos, as well as what else needs to be replaced (I've seen full kits for turbo replacements) while doing the turbos. Not trying to add hp or anything. I just want to get things sorted out. Any advice and links are mush appreciated.
