newkiebrown had the DDE control unit been diagnosed too ?

Diagnosed as a Turbo Actuator failure. Used but working Actuator bought from ebay. Now fitted and I have a working Turbo again

Yeah those are my paws in the video. It's a bit awkward to get at but as you can see it's definitely do-able.

Thanks but it really wasn't that difficult... well, once I was armed with the information of what the actual problem was that is.

I think for my next BMW I shall purchase the diagnostic hardware / software and take time to learn how to use it. Could end up saving an absolute fortune doing these kind of repairs yourself. It's a shame car dealers try (and succeed for the most part) to rip us off at any given opportunity
