Are you talking about new or used?
I'd go for the 535d (I almost did but went the petrol route instead) over the 530d but, on a ? for ? basis you lose something to compensate for that extra oomph - maybe a plate older or some nice toys missing for instance
Either way, I don't think you'd be upset with either
I can recommed Roy at Soper of Lincoln, he's a nice enough guy and they get some tidy examples in

I got mine from Soper in Lincoln and I live in Kent!
Got a 530d as thats good enough for me, couldn't justify spending more when there's so many speed cameras around now.

I was looking for a 530d at first, then realised 535d's are not much more (second hand). Equipment wise I think all you get over the 530d is the advanced air con on the pre-LCI cars, not sure about LCI ones. Get a 535d, you won't regret it

530d vs 535d driving appeal, the 535d wins.
Do you need the 535d, probably not.
Would the 530d do the job, of course.
Do you "want" the 535d and can you afford it? Those are the questions!!
(I went for a 525dA because with my company car budget I could not get all the options I wanted in a 530d. If my budget was higher, then the numbers behind the "5" would also be higher!)
