Trunk opening wildly, rocks the whole car

Please have a look at the video I just made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNJugrp7-Y4 It shows my remote, how the trunk opens (to compare with previous video), then I am trying to confirm if you are talking about these panels and screws etc. Finally I could actually open right side panel (as it dint have any screws at all), to expose the spring. But I could not see any setting to change in the spring. Can you please tell me where this spring loosening setting is?
Thanks for all the help![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Man.... Nope...mine is not as bad....it doesn not bounce over and over.... Just that you can feel it roughly hitting the top once it opens...
As you, I did not find any regulator for the spring... Probably its a matter of bad shocks (if i can say that)!

But could not see any effect on how the trunk opens. Looks like changing the right shocks is the last go. Can someone tell where I can find it cheapest? Part number is: 51247141490. Cheapest I found at http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/51247141490/ES92131/ for $145 including shipping. Any better place to buy it?

Adjusting the spring won't make much difference, it's the shock that needs replacing. Don't let the trunk swing open like that with a broken shock- the hinges can get damaged. Your best bet at the moment is to remove at least one of the springs if you still want to use the remote trunk release. Otherwise open it with your hands and stop it slamming at the top.

Funny this post came about, my close friend just set the spring to allow the trunk to open faster. The trunk does exactly what you showed but even more violently lol. If you are going to adjust the spring I recommend you to have a few hands nearby because that spring is a B!tch to pull on alone.
I promised to laugh when the trunk finally does go crashing through the rear window
