trunk lid adjustment

Is it easy to do this? my trunk on my 08 535 almost knocked somebody out when i opened it?

The trunk lid can hurl shot 200 yards or decapitate someone if you're not careful when it's being opened but I don't think the springs are adjustable.

As a rule I hold one hand on top of the lid as I release it ... just to slow it's assent.

hahahha....i almost broke my nose on my first opening. Crazy stuff. Perhaps the hydralic shock can be dampened to expanded slower but I know the springs cannot be adjusted. I'll look at this during the weekend and let you know

i believe you can put the spring on different notches.
just remove the carpet side panels in the trunk to see.

you can, i did it on my car. makes a huge difference, be careful when moving the springs back notches and make sure that the catch doesn't shoot through your amp

My trunk lid goes up amazingly fast in this 'slow' speed setting shown on left side of trunk. Note that right side spring does not have bracket to change the 'settings'.
