there is/was one vendor offered a service to modify a pre-lci trunk finisher to fit an LCI trunk, however it doesn't sit 100% flush. however this service was only available to so cal members...one member did do this independently thru his dealer tho out side of so cal...
one member initially had this done, but ultimately bought a pre-lci trunk lid, installed a trunk finisher to that, then installed it on his 08 535i or 100% fittement....
he ended up parting out his 535i and sold the trunk lid a few months back: http://forums.5serie..._1#entry1230496
IIRC: even LCI M5 trunks are pre-LCI trunk lid+trunk finisher...

Since the trunk lid shape is completely different on the bottom half surrounding the license plate, you will need to spend a couple of hours cutting away the trunk finisher and test fitting it before it can sit flush. I would not recommend dremel tool but rather use an air grinder. With a low grit disc, it will have the same cutting away effect but would be much more friendly around curvatures. You will then have to make sure it is properly primed and paint it to match your car. Good luck!

air grinder might be the better idea - never used it myself, so can't say from experience, but something that'll be easier to use around the curvature does make sense, because there are lots of various curves there.
You'd have to be pretty careful not to damage the TF itself either way though.
Would it fit flush? I really don't see why not - as long as the job is done right.
