Hey do your side-view mirrors fold when you lock the doors? Not mine. I have read that in 3 series, 320d has this facility when you press the remote key more than 3 sec.

Have you seen the fact that in the idrive display when you hold the joystic wherever the four sides during a couple of seconds, the displays shows the final menu option.

Well they were just some tricks.

Bye.

Mine don't fold in, and, at least the US 5ers don't do so in general. I have experienced what you are saying, maybe. If I hold the joy stick briefly in the direction of, for example, entertainment when starting out in my car, then shortly thereafter my last viewed entertainment screen will appear.

If you have the option "folding mirrors" your dealer will be able to activate it...

We have it

is it possible to get folding mirrors here in North America? Can I just ask the dealer to activate it? or is it not available?

I don't think the option is available in the US--at least through the 545i.

I've tried the iDrive "hold" option and it definitely works. Folding mirrors in N. America? Now that would be great!!!

If you have the electric mirror option, you can ask your dealer to enable it. They need to program it. You don't find it in the idrive.

In Spain, folding mirrors work just when you press a key that is in the driver's door. What I'd like is to lock the doors and, at the same time, mirrors fold up.
Tomorrow I'll call my dealer...
