Have been so undecisive on what to run with a 19" winter setup its very aggrevating these days.

i will be fack to my falken 452's in the summer...
but its just my winter setup that i am a bit on the fence about.

what are you running for this winter?
What did you run last winter?

how was it in the snow?

im currently looking for some Blizzaks but they dont seem to be available in 275/30/19 anywhere so i might have to jump up to 35s....my brother swears by Blizzak and here in Detroit you need to have the best winter tires on the market...esp if youre like me w/ a 545i and tons of power...

i ran Michelin Pilot AS Sports on my Jag S-Type before the E60 and there were like racing slicks in the snow....absolutely no traction....a continual pain in the ass any time we got a half inch or more of accumulation. stay away!

i am interested in hearing other opinions too beyond Blizzaks...

I run Continenetal DWS in the winter, but I have AWD, so it's easier to get away with running high performance all-season tires. Although, I've known some people who run DWS on RWD cars year-round in NY too, so I guess it's not that bad. Maybe it all depends on how much snow/ice driving do you expect to get out of the tires.

I run 17" Michelin X-Ice and love them. Quiet, long wearing and work as they are supposed to in snow and on ice. Lots of members prefer Blizzaks.

Blizzak WS-60...245/40/18 square setup. Ridiculously great traction and probably the best winter tire I have ever used.

I'm thinking of going to a 19" staggered setup instead. More rim choices and better looks. I use the winters on my car for over 5 months out the year here in Saskatchewan so I want it to look good during the winter too!

I hope that I won't be giving up too much performance in going to a staggered setup for winter. i am interested to hear how well a 19 staggered winter tire setup has worked for others here.

I do too. Ran the typical 225 50 17 Blizzak setup on my xi and was cruising safely from Chicago to Detroit to Boston multiple times last winter, including the time when major snow storms were hitting and you could see cars in accidents on every exit of I-94 between Ann Arbor and Detroit.

Definitely running it again.

I use the oem Good Year all seasons, they are not the best in snow. But 4 wheel drive makes it ok. One of the reasons I went with base tires was to avoid run flats. I have 38,000 miles on the tires and they still have a lot of tread left. When they wear out I will probably go with Michelin tires.
