May the best Transmission Win!
I like to accelerate rapidly so I voted for the Step.

I have steptronic but manual next time. Prefer more ' direct' connection. Put your foot down & it goes. Rather than steptronic which waits for electronic wizardry to decide & can catch you out. I have latest
software & still the same. Now when overtaking I always put it into sport mode for more reliable response.

Indeed it seems whatever you do to it, it doesn't have the same response as you'd expect. I found that way different in the M5 smg.

Manual.

Because nothing says BMW more than an inline 6 connected to a manual trans driving the rear wheels.

I ordered a manual (delivery August).

I'm thinking of going off to driving school to learn how to heel-toe/double clutch properly so I can take advantage of everything the machine has to offer!

And if we were to look into reliability, my money is on the manual transmission too.
