Thumbs up

I've got about 3000 miles on my 05 545 and have just experience the "slam" that has been discussed here on the forum. Fortunately, I had read up on it here, otherwise I would have sworn that I was rear-ended. Wasn't too hard, but startled me for sure.
I was waiting at a traffic light after coming to a slow stop in "D", not "DS". Upon starting through the intersection, accelerating lightly, it hit.
QUESTION:
Is there a definite cure for this via software at this time, or should I wait before going to the dealer? I'm not sure what SW version I've got, but I took delivery May 6, and the dealer upgraded the SW before turning over the car to me.

Otherwise the car has been a real joy. Thanks.

Theres "suppose" to be a fix now, with 17.1 BUT I'm not sure about running the risk of getting no LEDs. have you seen those theads? Heres a long thread but its pretty concise...

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=12426 <---- Post 26 will show you which LEDs that you can run the risk of losing.

But here is the info for the slam anyways...

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=12152&hl=Slam

So you'll have to decide... if it occurs often enough I would go ahead and upgrade and hope for the best... if its not then maybe... just maybe hold up till the next release that fixes the LEDs too...
