Hi guys I have a 535xi 2008 LCI and I noticed today on my way home from work my car wouldn't go into drive. So I would start the car (its in park). Then I would put my foot on the brake to engage D (drive) and it would put itself back into park. So I turned the car off and put it back on and everything was fine. 15 minutes into the drive I get a exclamation mark with a gear around it in YELLOW. Now the car doesn't move at all , any gear I put it in it just goes back to park. ( FYI Also my idrive screen has not worked for about a month now)

Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it would be helpful.

 

Solved!

After alot of research the problem was a $23 Automatic Transmission Plug Adapter. Which was on top of the vavle body in my transmission oil pan. Now my car shift like butter.

 

Always good to know what the resolution to any problem is. Thanks for updating and sharing that.
