Transmission/Gearbox Knocking!

Hi Guys i need your help i have 2004 545i! The problem is when i go from drive to reverse or visa versa and pull off i get a knock/thud under my cente console armrest! I have been told to get the transmission/gearbox reset do you think this will work? has anyone experienced this? thanks guys

Make sure you depress the brake ALL the way when shifting to drive/reverse. And do this -

For standard key ignition: Turn to position 2 (engine off) and hold down the gas pedal for 30 seconds.

For comfort access: Push button 2 (I believe) times and hold down gas pedal for 30 seconds.
