The vehicle has been involved in the accident which involved changing the transmission exchange heater (oil cooler) and I suppose there might be some oil shortage, but don't really know how to find out. The Idrive says nothing about it.

The trans is sealed and there isn't a place to check the fluid level as far as I know. Maybe someone else can chime in and confirm.

The only way to really know is with deductive method. Drain/fill. The only constant is that it holds 9 liters. Drain the tranny fluid and measure how much comes out. Then fill until fluid starts pouring out of filler hole. Plug the filler hole and start vehicle. Measure the amount of fluid you have pumped and you will start to pump. Undo filler plug and pump tranny fluid in when tranny is between 40-50 degrees Celcius, and you have the car up and someone shifting thru the gears manually. When the pump is on it will take as much oil as it can hold and when it cannot hold anymore it will start pouring out of filler hole. Plug filler hole and then measure how much fluid you have left. Deduct what you have put into the vehicle. Compare with what you pulled out of vehicle and remember that the tranny holds 9 liters. Good to have newer fluids. Use only recommended do not try to be cheap because it will most likely cost you a tranmission. So enjoy spending $16 a liter. Make sure whoever is doing this uses the correct fluid. It's not their car so why should they care? They can pay $3 for a liter of plain-jane and charge you $16.
