My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
A friend of mine has a 2007 530 and recently ran over something in the road. The object damaged one of the plastic covers under the car. When he removed it he noticed a fluid leak and decided to have the leak checked and repaired. It turned out to be a front seal in the tranny for $20.00 and the labor was another 525.00 with fluid/filter change and all. This got us talking about when should we change our tranny fluid. I know some trannies have life time fluid. We came across this pdf for changes and it looks to be 100.000 miles. Like I said, he has a 530 I have a 535 and I'm not sure if we have the same tranny or not. I would think we do, but just not sure. The pdf does not mention the 535.

Haha.................you will get a lot of different views on this.
Tranny is meant to be lifetime sealed..................but how long is a lifetime?
Some say change every, 50,000..........or 75,000............or 100,000.
Some say it has improved the changing.....some will say it wrecked the tranny.
have fun sorting out who you agree with. :-)

no service interval whether auto or manual. lifetime lubricant for entire service life of trans. when repairs are made to trans or oli cooler use only approved lifetime lubricant. referenced from 5 series service manual 2004-2010, models 525i >>> 550i
