My Ride: e60 520d 2006 model
Default

I have lots of troubles with my 520d 3 months now. At first i changed the vibration damper at home when broke after 125000km. In 2 weeks times i started feeling a small jerk when coming to a complete stop. It
was about time to change the atf and the oil pan and that's what i did. Nothing really changed afterwards. Situation got worse a month after and then one day after quite fast driving the vibration damper broke again in just 15000km done. When i went to the mechanic i think he searched it backwards. No error codes so he said that perhaps the damper i changed which was not an original bmw part did't have good geometry and was making all these problems from the front to the tranny. He placed a new original damper and the car was going fine without any jerks on stops. The tranny's bahaviour was not as new but i think that was logical after 140000km done. Slowly in 2 weeks time jerks on stops returned and so did gear slams and slips. But not always and that's what makes me wonder what in hell is happening. Is it the tranny itself, is it the converter i don't know. What i know is that thing makes me crazy. Does anybody have any thoughts on that?

The transmission controller (electronic) 'learns' your driving behavior and modifies it to fit. You can 'reset the transmission'.
