leaving retail store parking lot.... level parking spot. started 545i as always, placed auto shifter in reverse. tranny did not engage. moved to drive, nothing, back and forth. ZIP. car not moving. engine revving but car not moving. gear indicator on instrument panel clearly indicating my selections. but still nothing.

turned off car, waited 10 seonds, re-started car and presto, everythings' normal.

anyone else enjoyed this one?

ironically, car was due for 12k mile service next mroning. of course, zero DTC's indicated by either the drivetrain or tranny control module.

Here in S. California we have the ever-popular city of Hollywood where you are more than likely to see a "tranny surprise".

Step, manual, and SMG are all broken, is there any other transmission option, BMW?
